Bus and Coach

The Winding Wheel Theatre is conveniently located and is a short distance from all town centre bus stops. The coach station is 0.4 miles from the venue.

Train

Chesterfield is on a major train route

Just 1 ¾ hours from London and 15 minutes from Sheffield with through trains from Manchester, Birmingham, York, Newcastle and Bristol. 

The Winding Wheel Theatre is approximately 0.3 miles to the Chesterfield Train Station.

Exit Chesterfield Station and turn left. Walk up the hill, cross the footbridge to Corporation Street, and continue walking with the Pomegranate Theatre on your left. Then, turn right onto Holywell Street. The Winding Wheel Theatre will be on your right. The distance from the train station to the Theatre is approximately 0.3 miles.

Car

Chesterfield is just 10 minutes from junction 29 of the M1 motorway via the A617. From all routes, follow signs to Chesterfield Town Centre.

Parking

There are a number of large car parks close to the Winding Wheel which have allocated disabled parking.

Notes for access customers

Taxis

There are plenty of taxi firms in Chesterfield that cater to people with access needs. Some of these firms are located very close to the Winding Wheel Theatre. If you are at the venue and need help booking a taxi to get home, please speak with a member of the front-of-house staff.

Please be careful on the cobbles

Chesterfield is an ancient market town, and the floors of New Square and Market Place are covered in cobbles. If you are accessing the theatre via these routes, please take extra care on the cobbles.
