Starting with a route through Poulter Country Park we follow field paths to reach the architecturally interesting old hall near Upper Langwith. Here a sharp turn north leads to the use of an extensive wooded path, through Scarcliffe Park, to reach the delightful hamlet of Whaley for coffee. We shall then proceed to skirt the southern edge of the village of Creswell to reach the entrance to the internationally renowned Creswell Crags. Lunch will be taken above the crags, with extensive views south along the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire border. We then proceed on to the equally delightful hamlet of Holbeck using a section of the national route referred to as Robin Hoods Way. We then return to Whaley Thorns using extensive field paths and a final short wooded section through Graves Wood.
