Modern Jazz Quartet- revisiting classic compositions from the golden period of post-war jazz-1950 to 1980. That period of 'modern jazz' saw the rise of hugely significant musicians/composers Miles Davis, Chick Corea, Wayne Shorter, Art Blakey and the heyday of the major record labels Blue Note, Prestige and Impulse.
Expect a broad range of approaches, combining buoyant Latin grooves, delicate atmospheric offerings and driving swing.
