★★★★ "...a blast of sunshine, hope and hotpants." - The Guardian

★★★★  "Like a shot of summer holiday straight to the arm, this will have you shimmying out of the cinema and hugging all your neighbours. It’s joyful." - Empire

"Films that take us to the heights of delight are all too rare these days. Watching this one is like winning the lottery’s jackpot." Wall Street Journal

★★★★ "An irresistable tale from the Hamilton star, of immigrants getting things done." Evening Standard

In the Heights centres on a variety of characters living in the neighbourhood of Washington Heights, on the northern tip of Manhattan. At the centre of the show is Usnavi, a bodega owner who looks after the aging Cuban lady next door, pines for the gorgeous girl working in the neighbouring beauty salon and dreams of winning the lottery and escaping to the shores of his native Dominican Republic. Meanwhile, Nina, a childhood friend of Usnavi's, has returned to the neighbourhood from her first year at college with surprising news for her parents, who have spent their life savings on building a better life for their daughter. Ultimately, Usnavi and the residents of the close-knit neighbourhood get a dose of what it means to be home.

Starring Lin-Manuel Miranda (award-winning creator of Hamilton the Musical), Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn 99), Jimmy Smits (LA Law), Dascha Polanco (Orange is the New Black), Daphne Rubin-Vega (Broadway star best known for originating the role of Mimi Marquez in Rent) and Susan Pourfar (Scandal).
