- By bus: Buses to Royal Hospital, stop at Cemetery Road.
By rail: Chesterfield Railway Station - Free on street parking next to chapels or on Cemetery Road (one way, access via Valley Road). Alternatively, along Spital Lane.
Unlike many cemeteries, Spital Cemetery does not have a dedicated area set aside to commemorate the lives of those who contributed to the 20th century world wars. However, it does include war graves with their distinctive Hopton stone and design and memorials to those buried overseas.
Come and join us for one of our annual tours to commemorate the dead, the wounded, and those left behind. This tour is also run as part of Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC) Week.
