- Easy Access - Suitable for people with conventional wheelchairs and pushchairs.
- Easy - For anyone who doesn’t have a mobility or specific health problem, or is seriously unfit.
- Leisurely - For reasonably fit people with at least a little country walking experience
- Moderate - For people with country walking experience and a good level of fitness.
- Strenuous - For experienced country walkers with an above average fitness level.

A Bit of a Beast
Walking Festival 2025 (Moderate, 10 miles)
- Grade - Moderate
- Description of route - Circular, may include stiles, 2-3 stops
- Length of route (miles) - 10 miles
- Typical duration of route - 6.5 hours
- Children welcome. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
- Dogs on leads welcome
- Bring a packed lunch
The full ‘Beast of Bolsover’ walk is 20 miles, but this walk gives you the opportunity to do just half of that.
Join the Hairy Hikers as we stride out to see some of the best bits of the Beast of Bolsover long distance walk but in a more compact way. A shorter walk taking in some of the fantastic countryside around Bolsover.
