Job Vacancies - Programme and Hire Manager & Stage Technician

Chesterfield Borough Council are looking to recruit for the following positions.

PROGRAMME AND VENUE HIRE MANAGER

We are looking to recruit a manager with proven experience of working in entertainment programming or venue hire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the programming and hiring of the Pomegranate Theatre (590 seats), Winding Wheel Theatre (856 seats), Hasland Village Hall and Market Hall Assembly Rooms. You will also be responsible for the management of two staff.

The Council is an excellent employer with rewarding conditions of service which include generous leave entitlement and sick pay, flexible working, progressive HR policies, access to the local government pension scheme and discounted leisure membership.

Our ideal candidate will have specific proven ability in contract negotiations and will have developed knowledge of the arts and entertainment, and/or hospitality industry.

You will be a proactive self-starter, good team worker, and have a creative and innovative approach. The successful candidate will be commercially astute, with experience of budget control, results driven, customer focused, and have excellent IT skills.

STAGE TECHNICIAN

The successful candidate will be delivering technical elements of events at both the Pomegranate Theatre and Winding Wheel Theatre, and at Hasland Village Hall, Market Hall Assembly Rooms, and other Council buildings as required.

The venues operate 7 days a week including some bank holidays, therefore a flexible approach to working hours is essential. Exact shifts will relate to the performance or event starting times and there will be seasonal changes.

You will have previous technical theatre experience in a professional environment. You will be able to work using your own initiative, or as part of team, and have good people management skills, as well as being a good communicator. 

The ideal candidate should be experienced in lighting board and sound desk operation and set construction.
