TV Legend John Lyons joins Jack and the Beanstalk Pantomime cast
The producers of this year’s magical pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk are thrilled to announce that John Lyons, best known for his role as DS George Toolan in the long-running ITV drama A Touch of Frost, will take to the stage as the loveable King Crumble at the Winding Wheel Theatre, Chesterfield this festive season.
Joining him in the laugh-a-minute adventure up the beanstalk is pantomime favourite Simon Howe as the fabulously flamboyant and tap-dancing Dame Trott. With a career carved on stage, Simon promises to bring high-energy routines, colourful costumes, and plenty of sparkle to the role.
Also joining the cast is Lewis Burrage as Jack Trott.
Packed with traditional panto magic, larger-than-life characters, stunning sets, and toe-tapping tunes, Jack and the Beanstalk will deliver fun for all the family – and a giant-sized helping of festive cheer!

Paul Holman, the show’s producer, said:
"We’re absolutely delighted to welcome John Lyons to Chesterfield this Christmas. He’s a hugely respected actor with a fantastic sense of comic timing – perfect for panto! And with the brilliant Simon Howe bringing his unique tap-dancing twist to Dame Trott, audiences are in for a real treat.”
